Overview

Transaction Network Services (TNS), a Koch Industries company, is seeking a talented and motivated AWS Cloud Architect. We are adopting cloud services at an increasing rate, primarily AWS. This role is for an architect to establish strategy and architecture for this increasingly important set of technologies.

Responsibilities

1. Create and execute cloud computing strategies by architecting cloud infrastructure assets to meet TNS’ business goals.
2. Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud infrastructure and cloud-native applications.
3. Serve as subject matter expert, advisor to understand and communicate industry best practices for cloud technologies.
4. Develop, configure, administer, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure supporting corporate and production platforms.
5. Define monitoring and alerting requirements for cloud infrastructure, assist Monitoring and Automation teams.
6. Create, maintain, and improve documentation for processes, architecture, or other cloud infrastructure elements.
7. Educate and evangelize the capabilities and limitations of cloud technologies.
8. Assist in creating and managing financial forecasts, business cases, invoice reviews, and ongoing financial management for cloud services.
9. Perform consultative services to internal customers, helping select appropriate platforms for service delivery between cloud and traditional infrastructure.

Qualifications

1. 7-10 years of experience in a Software Development Engineering environment.
2. Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current trends.
3. 5+ years of practical experience with AWS architecture, designing, supporting cloud infrastructure and applications.
4. Demonstrated skills with AWS cloud infrastructure platforms, tools, and services.
5. Strong understanding of networking concepts and experience with cloud network infrastructure.
6. Knowledge of security and compliance best practices for cloud-based systems.
7. Experience with microservices, containerization, and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
8. Experience with automation tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible.
9. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting in hybrid cloud environments.
10. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Bash scripting.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working under tight deadlines.

Optional Desired Qualifications

1. Global organizational support experience.
2. Experience in the Telecom industry.
3. Knowledge of ML, data analysis, data visualization.
4. Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive.
5. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and comprehensive IT exposure.
6. Experience with other cloud platforms like Azure, Google Cloud, or OpenStack.
7. Certifications in Azure or GCP are a plus.

Education and Certifications

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
2. AWS cloud architecture certification required.

Salary range: $150,000 - $190,000 annually, with variable pay options. TNS offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, paid holidays, vacations, and a 401K plan with company match.
