Job summary

Brooksource seeks a Backend Software Developer in Indianapolis for a 6-month hybrid contract. You will design and implement scalable backend systems using C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Python, and SQL, delivering secure REST APIs and microservices.

You will work with AWS services (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB) and participate in CI/CD with Azure DevOps, monitoring with CloudWatch, and event-driven architectures.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Python, and SQL.
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
• Experience with event-driven systems, distributed systems, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Python, and SQL.
• Build and support scalable REST APIs and microservices architectures.
• Develop cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• Implement event-driven architectures utilizing pub/sub patterns and asynchronous processing workflows.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems using CloudWatch and observability tools.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.
