Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a software engineer with 3-5 years of backend experience to design and deliver modern APIs and microservices in AWS. You will build scalable services using C#/.NET 8+, Python, and SQL, and implement event-driven architectures with AWS tooling.

You will optimize production systems, participate in CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure secure, high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Python, and SQL.
• Experience designing REST APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on with AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with event-driven and distributed systems, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Job description

This role is ideal for a software engineer with 3-5 years of experience developing modern backend systems in AWS, designing event-driven architectures, and delivering secure, high-quality APIs and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Python, and SQL.
• Build and support scalable REST APIs and microservices architectures.
• Develop cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• Implement event-driven architectures utilizing pub/sub patterns and asynchronous processing workflows.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems using CloudWatch and observability tools.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Python, and SQL.
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
• Experience with event-driven systems, distributed systems, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Skills

• AWS CDK or CloudFormation experience.
• Mobile Development familiarity and/or hands‑on experience with Swift/Kotlin languages.
• Financial services or regulated-industry experience.
• Payment processing knowledge.
• Dynatrace, LaunchDarkly, or similar monitoring and feature management tools.
