Job summary

The University of Vermont is seeking a Team Lead for Award Acceptance, Setup and Outgoing Subawards. This role leads administrative operations for complex sponsored projects, ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements and university policies, while mentoring SPA staff and driving continuous process improvements.

Responsibilities include negotiating complex agreements, onboarding staff, and coordinating with Principal Investigators and research staff to streamline workflows in a high-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and six years of government/non-profit/higher education experience.
• Knowledge of federal regulations and sponsor guidelines.
• Experience in complex research administration and negotiation required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; leadership demonstrated.
• Desirable: Master’s degree or related certifications; familiarity with research management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead award acceptance, setup, and outgoing subawards.
• Provide supervision for SPA staff; onboard and train team members.
• Negotiate complex sponsored agreements in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with SPA leaders to promote collaboration, customer focus, and compliance.
• Develop tools and documentation; drive continuous improvement.
