Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking Overnight Direct Support Professionals to provide essential overnight residential support for adults with IDD in Ocean County, NJ, including Brick Township and Toms River.

You will monitor health and safety, administer medications as needed, and help individuals begin their day, all while remaining awake and engaged during the night. Weekend shifts are required, with starting pay at $20.70/hr and potential up to $24.70/hr.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five points.
• Ability to remain awake for the 11:00 PM–9:00 AM shift.
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in emergencies.
• Strong reliability, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift or assist up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work required weekend shifts.
• Preferred: previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive overnight supervision to maintain safety.
• Perform hourly status checks and overnight monitoring duties.
• Respond to medical situations, emergencies, and overnight events.
• Identify safety hazards and maintenance concerns requiring attention.
• Administer medications per agency procedures and care plans.
