Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is hiring Overnight Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide essential residential support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Ocean County, NJ, including Brick Township and Toms River. This awake overnight role requires reliability, independence, and compassion.

Starting pay is $20.70 per hour, with earning potential up to $24.70 per hour including shift differentials and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five points.
• Ability to remain awake and attentive for the entire 11:00 PM-9:00 AM shift.
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgment during emergencies or unexpected situations.
• Reliable with strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to lift or assist with up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work required weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision during the overnight hours to maintain safety and well‑being.
• Perform hourly status checks and complete overnight monitoring duties.
• Remain alert to changes in health, mobility, or environmental conditions.
• Respond appropriately to medical situations and emergencies.
• Maintain accurate overnight logs, medication records, and incident reports.
• Communicate updates to incoming staff to support shift handoffs.
