Job summary

Aon Corporation in Washington, DC, is seeking an Assistant Vice President (Account Executive/Broker) to join its Space insurance team. This role focuses on advising clients, structuring placements, and negotiating coverage for complex space risks, including launch, in‑orbit, and third‑party liability exposures.

You will work with satellite operators, manufacturers, launch providers, and financial stakeholders, partnering closely with other team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Law or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of insurance or reinsurance experience, ideally in specialty lines; space/aviation/complex risks a plus.
• Experience managing complex accounts and placing specialty risks in international markets.
• Solid understanding of insurance principles, policy structures, and contract wordings.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary day‑to‑day contact for a portfolio of space clients.
• Lead renewal strategy and placement from data collection through binding and documentation.
• Structure, negotiate, and place complex risks with local and international markets.
• Build relationships with underwriters and monitor market capacity and pricing trends.
• Identify client needs and coverage gaps; propose tailored risk transfer solutions.
• Draft and review market submissions, policy wordings, and endorsements.
• Support claim advocacy by interpreting coverage and coordinating with underwriters.
• Contribute to new business development, RFP responses, and client presentations.
