Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Senior Production Support Engineer - AVP to ensure the smooth operation of production systems and deliver high service levels across risk, pricing, trading, and settlement. You will apply software engineering practices to reduce toil and drive stabilization projects in collaboration with Build the Bank and business stakeholders.

The role requires extensive SQL/database, Unix/Windows, ITIL, Autosys/middleware, and monitoring expertise, with experience in front-office trading

Qualifications

Experience with SQL, databases, and Unix/Windows in investment banking.
Strong grounding in ITIL concepts and CM tools; familiarity with reporting.
Experience with Autosys, middleware, and messaging platforms (MQ/Solace).
Proven ability to build/maintain monitoring tools (ITRS, AppDynamics).
Experience supporting front-office and trading applications in banking environments.
AWS services such as EC2, S3, CloudWatch; familiarity with SRE principles.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to resolve complex issues for a client group; shape the support model.
Perform preventative maintenance and use monitoring tools to prevent issues and ensure performance.
Maintain a knowledge base of resolved cases for self-service and sharing.
Analyze system logs to identify root causes and apply fixes or changes.
Drive automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, and resiliency planning.
Identify and remediate risks; raise when needed through proper processes.
Proactively implement automations to maintain stability and drive efficiency.
