Allied World is pursuing a data- and AI-driven underwriting transformation. You will shape the vision, roadmap, and OKRs for AI-enabled underwriting capabilities and shepherd them from discovery to production with governance and risk controls.

You’ll partner with underwriting, actuarial, claims and distribution to ship high-value AI use cases, translate needs into engineering-ready stories, and drive measurable business impact across platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a Product Owner/PM shipping Data/AI products in regulated enterprises.
• Deep P&C Insurance domain knowledge: underwriting, rate changes, loss ratios.
• Proven GenAI/ML/NLP delivery from POC to production at scale.
• Executive-grade communication; concise CIO briefings and user stories.
• Agile mastery with ruthless backlog and outcomes focus.
• Technical fluency: SQL, Python, Databricks/AWS/Azure, BI tooling.

This role is the single-threaded leader accountable for translating bold AI ambition into shipped capabilities that transform our end-to-end underwriting lifecycle — from submission triage and risk selection to pricing, portfolio steering, and bind. You won't be managing a backlog; you'll be shaping the future of how Allied World underwrites risk.**Job Duties and Responsibilities:*** **Vision → Value:** Define and drive the product vision, roadmap, and OKRs for our Data + AI underwriting capabilities — including GenAI copilots, agentic workflows, predictive models, and the AIDA insights ecosystem (Broker 360, Client 360, Underwriter Analytics, Claims Analytics).* **Underwriting Modernization:** Partner with Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, and Distribution leaders to identify and ship the highest-value AI use cases — submission intake automation, intelligent risk scoring, rate adequacy intelligence, exposure analytics, and broker engagement.* **AI Product Delivery:** Lead the full product lifecycle — discovery, prioritization, user stories, sprint execution, UAT, launch, and adoption — with engineering, data science, and design pods.* **Stakeholder Orchestration:** Be the voice of the underwriter to engineering and the voice of the platform to the C-suite. Run monthly Data + AI product reviews with senior stakeholders.* **Responsible AI:** Champion model governance, explainability, data quality, and compliance — partnering with Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, and Legal.* **Measure What Matters:** Define adoption, business value, and ROI metrics — and relentlessly track them.### **Must-Haves*** 7+ years as a Product Owner / Product Manager, with 3+ years shipping Data, Analytics, or AI/ML products in a regulated enterprise.* Deep P&C Insurance domain expertise — fluent in underwriting, rate change, loss ratio, submissions, portfolio mix, and authority statements.* Proven AI delivery track record — GenAI, ML models, NLP, or agentic AI moved from POC to production at scale.* Executive-grade communication — able to brief a CIO in three slides and write a user story engineers love.* Agile mastery — backlog ruthlessness, sprint discipline, and outcome obsession.* Technical fluency: SQL, Python, modern data stacks (Databricks, Azure, AWS), BI tools (Power BI), and LLM/AI platforms.**Nice-to-Haves*** Experience modernizing underwriting workbenches, policy admin systems, or submission platforms.* Certified SAFe / CSPO / Pragmatic PM.* Exposure to Guidewire, Duck Creek, or comparable insurance platforms.**You'll Thrive Here If You Are*** A builder, not a babysitter — you'd rather ship than steer committees.* Energized by ambiguity and able to convert it into a roadmap by Friday.* Equally comfortable with a quant model and a boardroom narrative.* Genuinely curious about how AI changes the economics of insurance.**Education & Certifications*** Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, Business Analytics, or related field strongly preferred.* Agile Product Owner Certification (CSPO / SAFe POPM) highly preferred.### **The salary range** for this role is between:The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below he listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but now limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one compensation of Allied World comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.$170,000 - $175,000Our generous benefits package includes: Health, Dental and Disability Insurance, a company match 401k plan, and Group Term Life Insurance.
