Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Plumbing Engineer in San Francisco, CA. This leadership role provides technical direction, mentoring, and oversight of multi-market plumbing systems for complex building projects.

You will lead design for storm drainage, domestic water, sanitary, gas and medical gas systems, oversee budgets and schedules, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-profile California and US projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in plumbing engineering.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing engineering principles, building codes, regulations and best practices.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing budgets/schedules.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for plumbing system design on large projects.
• Lead planning, design and specification of plumbing systems.
• Oversee project delivery including quality, schedule, and budget.
• Develop construction documents, calculations, reports and studies.
• Coordinate with architects, structural/mechanical/electrical engineers and contractors.
• Mentor and guide junior staff and BIM team members.
• Support QA/QC and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist in business development and client presentations.
