Job summary

The Hartford in Charlotte, NC/ Hartford, CT area seeks an AVP of Agile Product Management to own a portfolio of modernization initiatives across underwriting, product, operations, and technology. This role focuses on delivering measurable business outcomes, improving cycle time, and accelerating adoption of new capabilities.

You will lead a team of product owners and managers, partner with senior stakeholders, and shape a multi-year modernization roadmap in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in transformation, modernization, strategy, product management, or consulting.
• Proven ownership of a modernization portfolio across multiple functions with measurable outcomes.
• Experience influencing senior executives and driving decisions in a matrixed organization.
• Experience leading and developing teams of product owners or managers.
• Strong blend of strategy and execution with focus on business outcomes.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and tradeoff decisions with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of modernization initiatives across underwriting, product, operations, and technology.
• Establish governance, success measures, and executive reporting for progress and risks.
• Partner with underwriting and technology leaders to modernize workflows and supporting platforms.
• Identify and remove handoffs and rework to improve productivity.
• Lead change management to ensure adoption of new capabilities.
• Define multi-year modernization roadmap and refresh with changing priorities.
