Job summary

State Street in Boston is seeking an Assistant Vice President for its Trading & Asset Servicing margin operations. You will build and operate scalable margin capabilities, translating regulatory frameworks into practical procedures, controls, and daily routines across our broker‑dealer platform.

The role requires strong Regulation T expertise and hands-on experience managing time‑sensitive margin calls, maintenance issues, and escalation pathways.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Regulation T, broker-margin concepts, and risk controls.
• Experience managing margin calls, maintenance deficiencies, and extensions in a time-sensitive environment.
• Familiarity with Regulation SHO and short‑selling operations; Portfolio Margin knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the margin operating model translating regulatory and business requirements into procedures and controls.
• Own day-to-day margin operations including calls, maintenance, exceptions, and restrictions.
• Monitor margin activity and lead escalation for elevated exposures and risk signals.
• Apply Regulation T, FINRA 4210, and SEC requirements in evaluating margin activity and escalations.
• Coordinate timely resolution of margin calls and related exceptions across stakeholders.
• Oversee concentration and house-margin risk, including escalations and remediation actions.
• Support data delivery to Risk, review stress-test outputs, and align with risk standards.
• Collaborate with Clearing-Firm (Apex) and other control teams to ensure smooth operation.
