Job summary

Western Alliance Bank in San Diego, CA seeks an Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Manager - Lender Finance to analyze, underwrite and coordinate closing of large corporate loans ($25mm+). You will work with Directors and MDs to monitor credit risk and prepare materials for senior management.

Core duties include analyzing portfolio performance, developing scorecards, coordinating loan processing, and supporting other underwriting and portfolio-maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Progress toward or completion of CFA.
• Advanced knowledge of Fixed Income investing.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring.
• Advanced Excel and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze portfolio investment performance for buy/hold/sell recommendations.
• Prepare portfolio scorecards and recommend marks on collateral.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; assist in solving problems in your portfolio.
• Handle various other underwriting, portfolio management and upkeep tasks and responsibilities related to new loan requests and/or portfolio.
