Western Alliance Bank seeks an Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Manager in Lender Finance to analyze, underwrite, and coordinate closing of large corporate loans and structured products ($25mm+). You will work with Directors and MDs to monitor credit risk across a 20-person team with $10B AUM.

The role requires strong analytical skills, CFA progress, and advanced Excel competency; compensation includes potential bonuses and stock components. Local LA/San Diego postings apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of portfolio management or similar experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Fixed Income investing.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring; credit analyst training completed.
• Advanced speaking, Excel and writing communication skills.
• Progress toward or completion of CFA.

Responsibilities

• Analyze portfolio investment performance for buy/hold/sell recommendations.
• Prepare portfolio scorecards and recommend marks on collateral.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans conform to bank lending policies.
• Handle underwriting, portfolio management and related tasks for new loan requests and/or portfolio.
• Gather and analyze information to present to Senior Management or Loan Committee for approval.
