Job summary

Breakthrough T1D is seeking an AVP, Leadership Giving (South) to drive regional revenue growth from Texas, Georgia or Florida. This senior fundraising role leads a team of 3-5 gift officers and owns all principal gift strategy for the region.

The AVP manages a personal portfolio of ~50 high‑capacity accounts and plays a key role in $1M+ strategy conversations. You will collaborate across teams to build multi‑channel donor strategies, mentor staff, and ensure KPI delivery while maintaining donor

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive fundraising experience with at least 5 years in major gift fundraising.
• Minimum 3 years directly managing a major gift fundraising team.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree or CFRE preferred.
• Proven ability to balance frontline donor engagement with operational management, KPI accountability, and staff development.
• Experience with complex, multi-asset gift strategies (outright, planned, blended, corporate, foundation).
• Proficiency in Salesforce or comparable CRM and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage a team of 3-5 Leadership Gift Officers with clear revenue targets and development plans.
• Own all $1M+ strategy decisions for the team and ensure involvement in key solicitations.
• Maintain a personal portfolio of ~50 accounts with $1M-$5M+ capacity and lead solicitations in that range.
• Monitor pipeline and analytics to identify gaps and drive data-informed coaching.
• Collaborate across functions to develop multi-channel donor strategies and cross-functional partnerships.
• Travel 30-40% of the time to support donor engagements and team coordination.
