Job summary

Westfield Specialty seeks an Assistant Vice President to lead Inland Marine underwriting on the Excess Property team based in Alpharetta, GA. You will drive profitable growth, develop broker/client relationships, and manage a diversified portfolio of property business.

You will serve as a technical underwriting leader, guide strategy, collaborate across distribution, claims, actuarial, legal and operations, and travel to meet brokers and insureds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7–10 years of Inland Marine underwriting experience.
• Established broker relationships within the assigned territory.
• Strong technical underwriting expertise and risk assessment.
• Ability to develop and execute business plans for production and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a profitable Inland Marine book of Property business.
• Develop and execute territory and broker strategies.
• Maintain relationships with broker partners, insureds, and stakeholders.
• Evaluate complex risks, determine coverage, pricing, terms.
• Provide technical underwriting leadership and act as subject matter expert.
• Collaborate with distribution, claims, actuary, legal, compliance, and operations.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Utilize data sources to enhance underwriting insight and broker service.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across lines.
• Represent the company at conferences and broker events.
