Job summary

MSIG USA seeks a senior AVP Inland Marine Underwriting in Chicago to lead market-facing production underwriting, expand profitable Inland Marine business, and serve as a trusted market representative to brokers and clients.

In this role you will manage underwriting decisions, pricing, and risk selection, mentor others, and collaborate with claims, actuarial, risk engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• CPCU, ARM, AU or equivalent insurance designations preferred.
• 10+ years Inland Marine underwriting experience.
• Expertise with Contractors Equipment, Motor Truck Cargo, Warehouse Legal Liability, Floaters.
• Strong broker relationships in the Chicago market.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Produce, underwrite, and service profitable Inland Marine business.
• Underwrite complex Inland Marine risks incl. Equipment, Cargo, Warehouse liabilities, Floaters.
• Develop underwriting solutions aligned with profitability.
• Monitor results and market developments.
• Lead and mentor junior underwriters.
• Expand broker relationships and drive new business.
