IAT Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, Inland Marine & Property Underwriter in Naperville/Rolling Meadows (IL) or Milwaukee (WI) or Kansas City (MO). You will lead a team of underwriters, grow a profitable inland marine and property book, and expand our Midwest footprint with broker relationships.

The role features a hybrid schedule with in-office Mon-Wed and remote options Thu-Fri. 9+ years of underwriting leadership and strong market knowledge are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 9+ years of inland marine and/or property underwriting experience.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and guiding underwriters.
• Strong understanding of the insurance marketplace, incl inland marine & property products, pricing, and competitive dynamics.
• Proven ability to develop broker relationships that support both new and renewal business opportunities.
• Confidence in risk selection, pricing, and structuring deals, incl deductibles, coverage features, or reinsurance where appropriate.
• Authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsabilidades

• Own and grow a profitable book of inland marine and property business across the Midwest.
• Build and strengthen agency relationships to drive high-quality new business flow.
• Evaluate risks, pricing, and coverage structures using experience and judgment.
• Analyze submissions, loss history, exposure changes, and external data for underwriting decisions.
• Set pricing reflecting risk with loss analysis and sound judgment.
• Structure deals using coverage features, deductibles, or reinsurance.
• Interpret policies and contracts for brokers and internal partners, including claims when questions arise.
• Meet with distribution partners at least 5 times per month.
• Perform other duties as needed.
