Job summary

Montgomery College seeks an Associate Vice President for the Honors College and Interdisciplinary Programs to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across Honors College, Collegewide Institutes, and student-scholar initiatives.

The AVP advances equitable access to high‑impact experiences and partners with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and external partners to support persistence and completion.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; doctorate or terminal degree preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible leadership in higher education.
• 5+ years of full-time teaching at the post-secondary level, preferably at a community college.
• Experience in honors education, interdisciplinary programming, experiential learning, or related initiatives.
• Experience managing programs, supervising staff, and overseeing budgets.
• Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and belonging.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for Honors College and Institute initiatives.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary programming across campuses and divisions.
• Oversee recruitment, advising coordination, and transfer planning for Honors students.
• Develop external partnerships and coordinate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Enrollment Services.
