Job summary

Northern Kentucky University seeks an Associate Vice President for Financial Services to lead accounting and financial operations. You will guide a team of directors and managers, advance Workday optimization, and ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

This role reports to the VP/CFO and acts as the deputy to the division in their absence. Required CPA license, a decade of progressive accounting/finance leadership, and excellent executive communication.

Qualifications

• CPA license required with 10+ years in accounting/finance leadership.
• Experience managing large teams and cross-functional partners.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and external audits.
• Proven track record driving process improvements in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Financial Services Organization and align resources with Institute needs.
• Develop and coach a high-performing finance team and successors.
• Advance Workday Financials optimization post-implementation.
• Drive process improvement, automate where appropriate, and strengthen controls.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, audits, and compliance.
• Provide technical accounting leadership and policy interpretation.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning.
• Oversee treasury, cash, investments, and debt management.
• Direct student accounts, procurement, and accounts payable operations.
• Serve as deputy to the VP/CFO and represent Financial Services to executives.
