Job summary

Community College of Philadelphia seeks an Associate Vice President, Accounting and Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, audits, and compliance. The role leads the General Ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, grant accounting, and fixed assets while driving system improvements and internal controls.

The AVP provides strategic guidance to the Vice President, Finance and Administration, manages staff development, and ensures accurate financial statements under GASB

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification highly desirable.
• GAAP and GASB knowledge required.
• Experience in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for accounting, financial reporting, and payroll.
• Lead audits and ensure regulatory compliance across state and federal requirements.
• Oversee General Ledger, Grants, Fixed Assets, and Cash management processes.
• Manage financial systems projects, including Banner ERP upgrades and integrations.
