Job summary

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. in Jersey City, NJ, seeks an AVP, Financial Close Leader to drive enterprise-wide financial processes and ensure audit readiness. Hybrid role based in Jersey City with collaboration across Data & Analytics and Finance teams, including PwC coordination.

You will own finance program oversight, develop execution plans, prepare executive communications, and support monthly board and audit materials, while leading cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting preferred.
• 7+ years of professional experience in insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of (re)insurance or other financial markets.
• Knowledge of audit processes and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong planning abilities.
• Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle priorities.
• Experience in fast-paced, high-growth organizations.
• Collaborates well with stakeholders and builds trust.
• Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Finance process strategic ownership with VP guidance.
• Program management of finance activities and calendar.
• Coordinate with Data & Analytics and other Finance teams.
• Develop executive communications and presentations.
• Support monthly audit and board reporting.
• Maintain Finance content on intranet.
• Coordinate with PwC and audit committee.
