Job summary

Virginia Tech seeks an Associate Vice President for Enterprise Solutions & Enabling Technologies to lead a growing DoIT team delivering enterprise applications, data systems, and AI-enabled services. The role drives modernization across student information, ERP, and BI platforms while partnering with distributed IT groups campus-wide.

The AVP will shape the technology roadmap, ensure cohesive data governance, and manage budgets and staff to accelerate AI adoption within university operations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in AI, data architecture, or related field with leadership experience.
• Experience in data governance, data strategy, enterprise architecture, data warehousing, or AI adoption.
• Proven track record managing budgets and large IT development/ops teams.
• Strong ability to translate technology into business value and manage organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Foster high-performing, agile teams delivering enterprise applications and data platforms.
• Lead modernization of student information, ERP, and BI capabilities; partner with stakeholders across the university.
