Job summary

University of North Texas seeks an Assistant Vice President for Academic Technology to provide strategic leadership across the university’s teaching, learning, and research technology ecosystem. Qualifications

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, or a closely related field.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible leadership in IT/academic technology.
• Minimum of five (5) years in senior management leadership.
• Experience developing enterprise technology strategies for teaching, learning, and operations.
• Experience managing complex technology budgets and large-scale implementations.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with academic and administrative stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a university-wide academic technology strategy aligned with institutional priorities.
• Provide executive leadership for academic technology operations and classroom technology services.
• Direct delivery of technology support to faculty, students, and units with service standards and metrics.
• Partner with Provost, deans, chairs, and libraries to identify technology needs and strategic solutions.
• Lead planning, implementation, and lifecycle management for enterprise academic technology platforms.
• Oversee classroom technology planning and support for instructional spaces across the university.
• Champion adoption of emerging technologies to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility, security, privacy, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
