Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking an AVP, Engineering Group Lead to serve as the senior technical leader for a domain cluster.

This role drives engineering excellence, delivery capability, and consistent execution across multiple teams, while coaching the Engineering Manager layer and translating product strategy into actionable plans. The position oversees cross-team initiatives, enforces standards, and collaborates with architecture, product, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead multiple cross-functional teams toward aligned delivery outcomes.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, observability, and DevOps.
• Demonstrated success operating in a matrixed environment and aligning technical decisions with strategic goals.
• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare.
• Background supporting or leading infrastructure/platform engineering or shared services teams.
• Familiarity with hybrid and distributed team models.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Manager Development & Leadership: 1:1s with Engineering Managers; coaching on technical leadership and people management; performance management and career development; recruiting and developing management talent; team health assessment and organizational design.
• Strategic Technical Planning & Coordination: cross-team technical architecture and dependency management; quarterly roadmap alignment; risk assessment and mitigation; standards and best practices; complex problem escalation.
• Delivery Oversight & Accountability: quarterly delivery reviews; cross-team coordination; resource allocation; escalation point for delivery risks; stakeholder communication on delivery status.
• Organizational & Cross-Domain Interface: VP review meetings; cross-domain collaboration; process improvement and scaling; interface with business unit stakeholders.
