Job summary

Vizient seeks an AVP of Engineering to modernize the Clinical Practice and Ambulatory Domain's Operational Benchmarking Platform. You will define the engineering strategy and lead AI-first, cloud-native data platforms delivering secure, scalable analytics for healthcare leaders.

As a senior technical leader, you will build and scale a high-performing team, drive PDLC/AIDLC practices, and partner with Product, Data, Security, and Architecture to ensure trusted, actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading AI-first or AI-enabled product and platform transformations.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Deep expertise in data engineering and large-scale pipelines.
• Deep expertise in Databricks and lakehouse architectures.
• Strong API-driven architecture and ecosystem design.
• Experience in regulated industries, preferably healthcare.
• Understanding of enterprise data governance, privacy, security, and compliance.
• Ability to build, scale, and lead high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience implementing PDLC, SDLC, DevSecOps, and AI Development Life Cycle.
• Experience establishing AI-enabled engineering practices and AI-assisted development.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and scalable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coach Engineering Managers; performance and career development.
• Align quarterly AI-first technical roadmaps within domain clusters.
• Oversee delivery, assess risks, allocate resources, and escalate impediments.
• Coordinate cross-domain initiatives; interface with product and architecture.
• Establish PDLC/AIDLC and AI-first engineering practices.
• Drive standards, tooling, security, and scalable architecture.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Security, and business stakeholders.
