Job summary

Sompo is seeking a seasoned AVP, E&S - Excess Casualty Underwriter to join our U.S. E&S team in Alpharetta, GA. The role focuses on underwriting lead and excess liability, managing broker relationships, and guiding a cross-functional team.

You will drive profitable growth, adapt techniques to guidelines, and develop marketing plans while collaborating with claims, legal and actuarial staff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of casualty underwriting experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
• CPCU designation and/or Surplus Lines license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite lead and excess liability business with evaluation of risk characteristics, capacity, attachment points, terms and pricing.
• Maintain and enhance broker relationships and develop new ones regionally and beyond.
• Adapt underwriting techniques to guidelines and rating plans for a wide range of account sizes and operations.
• Develop and execute marketing plans to retain existing business and generate new opportunities.
• Lead a cross-functional team including claims, legal and actuarial staff.
