Job summary

Ascot Group in Dallas seeks an Assistant Vice President, E&S Casualty, to lead underwriting with wholesale broker relationships and deliver tailored solutions for complex accounts in a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor Associate Underwriters, collaborate with internal partners to grow a profitable book, and stay current on market conditions, pricing strategies, and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 8 years of underwriting experience in P&C insurance.
• Experience with General Liability and Excess Liability preferred.
• Proven marketing, producer management, and new business development success.
• Ability to negotiate with internal and external partners.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to develop leadership skills.
• Strong risk analysis and underwriting process proficiency.
• Proficient interaction with customers and coworkers at all levels.
• Willingness to travel 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Grow and maintain a profitable book of business through underwriting and strategic planning.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Work independently within delegated underwriting authority and refer when needed.
• Cultivate relationships across partners to identify cross-selling opportunities and product development.
• Foster external relationships with wholesale brokers to market Ascot’s products.
• Provide superior service to brokers and clients with consistent engagement.
• Stay current on market conditions and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Manage Associate Underwriters and Interns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
