Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking an experienced Excess Casualty underwriter to lead pricing and risk selection for new and renewal business. The role focuses on building strong relationships with wholesale brokers and producers, analyzing complex risks, and delivering innovative risk solutions.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of Excess Casualty underwriting experience, with E&S background and a proven track record of profitable growth in a competitive market.

Qualifications

7–10 years of Excess Casualty underwriting experience.
Experience with E&S underwriting is required.
Strong background in Excess Casualty or Specialty Casualty.
Established relationships within the wholesale broker community.
Track record of growing and managing profitable book of business.
Production mindset and broker development experience.
Excellent analytical, negotiation and relationship skills.

Responsibilities

Underwrite and price new and renewal Excess Casualty business.
Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers and producers.
Analyze complex risks and determine pricing, coverage structures, terms, and conditions.
Drive profitable new business production within an assigned territory.
Manage and grow an existing portfolio while maintaining underwriting profitability.
Collaborate with internal underwriting and leadership teams to deliver creative risk solutions.
