Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony is building a world-class Digital Bank with innovative savings products that help consumers prepare for their futures. Our agile teams develop these products throughout the customer lifecycle. The Consumer Bank Digital API Product Owner will lead the API implementation for new features and enhancements, requiring experience with API teams and strong technical skills.

We offer flexible work options: remote, work from home, or in-office. You may need to occasionally visit our offices for meetings, training, or events.

Location requirement: Must be within a 2-hour drive of a virtual or hybrid hub location.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Identify business needs and translate them into requirements for API teams (Business Services Layer).
2. Provide technical consultation and influence decision-making with stakeholders and Technical Product Owners.
3. Collaborate with Technical Product Owners to ensure technical solutions meet business needs.
4. Deep dive into complex technical systems.
5. Communicate effectively with front-end developers and API consumers.
6. Recommend new technologies and innovative features.
7. Lead the full product development lifecycle: build, test, launch, and adoption.
8. Support Agile processes, backlog grooming, and release planning.
9. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).
10. Work with UX teams on prototypes and feedback.
11. Partner with stakeholders to prioritize features and manage the product backlog.
12. Manage operational functions like defect triage, employee training, and SLA issues.
13. Monitor usage patterns with analytics tools such as Omniture, GA, and Splunk.
14. Keep documentation current.
15. Collaborate with other Digital Product Owners for a unified customer experience.
16. Participate in SAFe framework activities.
17. Perform additional duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner in consumer banking.
2. 4+ years of digital product ownership experience, including API/services management.
3. Ability to work U.S. east coast hours and commute to a hub location regularly.
4. Must be within 2 hours of a hub location.

The salary range is $90,000 - $155,000 annually, plus potential bonuses. Compensation depends on experience and skills, with adjustments for certain markets.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing to undergo drug testing, background check, and fingerprinting.
• Able to meet federal requirements for banking employment.
