Job Description Summary

Do you want to be part of a team that leads business innovation in the insurance and financial services industry? Are you entrepreneurial, adaptable, and eager to drive growth and improvement? If so, Nationwide's Business Capability Team may be the right fit for you!

As a Consultant, you will partner with key team members to define product and journey vision and strategy, discover, refine, and deliver products that meet user needs and create excellent user experiences.

You will serve as the customer proxy for the agile development team, working with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business outcomes, measured by KPIs. You will have end-to-end responsibility for maintaining a comprehensive product backlog, including new features, enhancements, and technology-driven work.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Partner with stakeholders to execute strategic vision and maintain a holistic product backlog.
  2. Provide critical input to developers and agile teams, ensuring the business perspective is captured.
  3. Manage product backlog to meet delivery expectations.
  4. Navigate external partners to align expectations within Nationwide.
  5. Participate in meetings to drive short-term outcomes and plans.
  6. Understand organizational impacts to ensure solutions meet broad needs.
  7. Participate in planning and executing user acceptance testing, and work with the development team to resolve complex issues.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to AVP.

Skills and Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Experience: 7+ years in product management, business analysis, or related areas; product, business, or engineering background preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Broad understanding of technologies impacting products, insurance practices, agile methodologies, customer-centric design, data analytics, and budget management. Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential.

Additional competencies may be required, and staffing exceptions need approval.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $197,000, with an expected starting range of $106,000 to $158,000, depending on various factors.
