Job summary

DUAL North America is seeking an Assistant Vice President in Underwriting for the Cyber division, based in New York or Chicago with a hybrid work model. The AVP will lead a team of underwriters, drive production goals, and develop broker partnerships to grow high-severity risk coverage.

Responsibilities include coaching, portfolio management, and acting as a subject-matter expert in cyber underwriting. Travel may reach 50%+ and a discretionary annual bonus is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business or related field preferred.
• 8–10 years of underwriting experience with leadership exposure.
• CPCU/AU or similar certifications preferred.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Define team production goals aligned with division goals and drive execution through the team.
• Coach, mentor and train junior and senior underwriters.
• Manage performance reviews and merit recommendations within the team.
• Build and maintain broker relationships to drive new business and renewals.
• Underwrite complex risks and price with guidelines and tools.
