Job summary

Sompo seeks an AVP, Claims Counsel to lead complex Cyber, Media & Technology claims for the U.S. Sompo Financial Lines unit. The role supports high exposure matters, with responsibility for coverage analysis, settlements, and policy language development.

Ideal candidate has a JD and 8+ years in Cyber/MT claims, with mediations experience and strong cross-functional collaboration skills. Travel to multiple office locations is expected.

Qualifications

• JD required with a minimum of 8 years Cyber, Media & Technology claims experience.
• Proven handling of primary and excess Cyber, Media & Technology claims.
• Strong ability to analyze coverage, liability, damages and exposures.
• Experience attending mediations and drafting policy language.
• Builds strong relationships with underwriting, actuarial and partners.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage complex Cyber, Media & Technology claims from inception through resolution.
• Provide coverage, liability and damages analysis; identify key exposures and trends.
• Respond to coverage questions and support underwriting and senior management.
• Draft and contribute to Professional Lines policy language and docs.
• Represent the company at client meetings, mediations, and industry events; travel as needed.
• Collaborate with global claims, underwriting and other groups on strategic projects.
