Job summary

Sompo seeks an AVP, Claims Counsel to lead complex Cyber, Media & Technology claims in the U.S. You will analyze coverage, liability, and damages, support underwriting, and contribute to policy language while representing Sompo at meetings and industry events.

The role requires a JD with 8+ years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel as needed. Office locations include New York, Morristown, Garden City, Purchase, Chicago, or Alpharetta.

Qualifications

• JD required with ideally a minimum of 8 years of Cyber, Media & Technology claims experience.
• Proven experience handling primary and excess Cyber, Media & Technology claims.
• Strong ability to analyze coverage, liability, damages, exposures, and claims issues.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage complex Cyber, Media & Technology claims from inception through resolution.
• Identify key exposures and claim trends and provide written assessments to SompoPro.
• Respond to coverage questions and support problem resolution for underwriting and senior management.
• Draft and contribute to Professional Lines policy language and related documentation.
• Represent the Company at client meetings, mediations, and industry events; travel as needed.
• Collaborate with global claims colleagues and other groups on complex claims and strategic projects.
