Job summary

Athene in New York seeks an AVP Corporate Development to lead all phases of reinsurance transactions, from target identification through closing. You will develop complex transaction models and collaborate with third-party clients.

Requirements include 5 years of actuarial/modeling experience, ASA or FSA, and a Master’s in a quantitative field (or BA plus 7 years). Proficiency in Excel and Power BI is essential. Hybrid work with some remote days is available.

Qualifications

• 5 years building and using actuarial or mathematical models to perform complex data analyses.
• Experience in insurance, investment banking and/or financial services.
• Actuarial analyses of annuities and life insurance matters.
• Using Power BI for data analysis, data visualization and reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel for mortality-contingent financial and statistical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of a reinsurance transaction from target identification through bidding, structuring, negotiating and closing.
• Develop and maintain transaction models and assumptions.
• Manage third-party reinsurance clients and discuss industry trends, rate setting strategies and opportunities.
• Prepare internal deal documents for management approval.
• Document controls and implement policies to enhance the deal review process.
• Research actuarial concepts, regulations and industry trends impacting deal valuation.
• Analyze due diligence materials including actuarial appraisals and policy forms.
• Oversee projects and maintain third-party relationships.
• Work site is New York, NY with occasional work-from-home days.
