Job summary

Safety National seeks an AVP, Competitive Intelligence & Corporate Development, to advise executive leadership and shape long-term strategy through market and competitive insights. You will lead the CI program, assess competitors and potential acquisitions, and prepare executive-ready analyses and business cases for strategic growth.

The role collaborates across Finance, Insurance Compliance, and Planning & Reserving, with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days/week in the St. Louis office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in competitive intelligence, corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, or related analytical field.
• Experience evaluating acquisition targets, strategic partnerships, investments, or other corporate development opportunities.
• Experience analyzing financial statements, company performance, valuation, and strategic positioning.
• Experience preparing executive-level analyses and recommendations for strategic decisions.
• Strong financial analysis, valuation, and business modeling capabilities.
• Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into concise, actionable insights.
• Experience utilizing market intelligence platforms, public filings, industry research, and financial databases.
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; hybrid work with 3 days/week in St. Louis office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evolve the competitive intelligence program; analyze financial, regulatory, and market data.
• Transform complex information into executive-ready reports, presentations, market sizing, and business cases.
• Identify and advance strategic growth opportunities across acquisitions, partnerships, investments, and new products or markets.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, Insurance Compliance, and executives; engage external industry advisors.
• Monitor market developments and translate intelligence into meaningful business opportunities.
