Job summary

WSP USA in New York, NY, seeks an Assistant Vice President Structural Engineer- Bridges to lead bridge-focused projects within our Transportation Structures Team. This role requires a PE license and 10+ years of experience in structural engineering and construction management.

You will mentor engineers, oversee design and construction support, and contribute to business development while ensuring compliance with codes, safety policies, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years post-education experience.
• Engineer license required.
• Strong knowledge of structural and civil construction laws, codes, compliance.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Ability to work in the United States immediately.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with emphasis on quality work.

Responsibilities

• Technical Lead roles on bridge-focused transportation projects.
• Lead analysis, design, construction support and contract drawings for bridge projects.
• Support business development with technical and cost proposals.
• Mentor staff and oversee junior engineers.
• Department management, staff utilization and training support.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
