Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Principal Software Engineer who thrives in hands-on system design and architecture, leading by example to deliver time-sensitive projects on spec. You will shape consumer banking and credit servicing applications with event-driven, microservice and cloud-native patterns, guiding teams to excellence.

The role is remote with occasional in-person engagements and a requirement for vaccination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 8+ years in software engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of application development experience.
• Spring Boot and Spring Cloud development background.
• Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.

Responsibilities

• Influence agile development teams through SAFe across all project phases.
• Architect applications across the full stack using microservices and cloud-native tech.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Bitbucket and uDeploy.
• Mentor and collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers and architects.
• Ensure compliance with architecture, security, and technology standards.
• Drive modernization and migration roadmaps toward future state technology.
