Job summary

AeroVironment, based in California, is seeking an Electronics/Avionics/Production Technician II to perform advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on aircraft systems including navigation, comms, and flight control. You will interpret complex manuals and schematics with attention to detail under deadlines, ensuring safe, reliable avionics performance.

The role requires soldering, harness assembly, and connector work, plus the ability to read drawings and use diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of working experience required.
• Excellent wire soldering, stripping, crimping, and heat shrink skills.
• Able to read assembly drawings and instructions to produce high-quality avionics harnesses.
• Experience with harness assembly using schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with circular connectors and crimping tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and service avionics systems and equipment.
• Diagnose problems and troubleshoot equipment.
• Run tests and prepare reports on results.
• Update and improve existing systems.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
• Plan and schedule repairs.
• Assemble wire harnesses and connectors per drawings and procedures.
• Master soldering, stripping, crimping, heat shrink, and shielding techniques.
• Assemble circular connectors and major UAV subassemblies.
• Collaborate with management and engineering on new assemblies.
• Coordinate with stock room for kits and work orders.
