Job summary

AV is seeking a Solder Technician III in California to test and troubleshoot electronic and control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. You will manufacture, test, inspect, and repair electrical subsystems, write procedures, and maintain detailed records for aerospace-grade avionics and components.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in aerospace R&D, strong schematic skills, and hands-on experience with analog/digital hardware.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; trade/technical school acceptable.
• 5–8 years in aircraft manufacturing or Aerospace R&D environment.
• Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Office.
• Able to translate engineered designs into build instructions for assembly/test personnel.
• Experience with electrical schematics and interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with analog and digital hardware; avionics/controls prototype knowledge.
• Willingness to work overtime and some weekends; valid driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, test, inspect, and repair electrical systems and components.
• Write assembly and test procedures; maintain a detailed notebook of activities.
• Operate and maintain tools safely and effectively.
• Fabricate electronic assemblies from engineer drawings for UAVs, including avionics and payloads.
• Fabricate test fixtures and debug subsystems; solder electrical and avionic components.
• Assemble wire harnesses and UAV/RC electronic/mechanical systems; perform field/flight testing as required.
• Repair UAV/RC subsystems; assist in prototype design and low-volume builds.
• Possibly travel for field/flight tests; take ownership of tasks and mentor others.
