Job summary

Barfield Inc. seeks an Avionics Technician to support maintenance and calibration of aircraft avionics using ATEC workstations. The ideal candidate holds an Associate CETa credential, strong electronics knowledge, and experience with ATLAS programming for automated test procedures.

The role requires experience in an FAA Part 145 repair environment, soldering of PCBAs, and competency with test equipment. You will document results and report to the Shop Lead Technician or Shop Manager as part of a

Qualifications

Active ETA-I Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CETa) credential.
Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent military training preferred.
Experience in FAA Part 145 repair environment is required.
Ability to follow FAA/OEM data for maintenance.
Soldering/desoldering of through-hole and surface-mount components.

Responsibilities

System Operation: Execute automated test programs on the ATEC platform to diagnose LRUs.
Test Execution: Use Spherea’s ATEC suite or NI Test Stand.
Compiler Proficiency: Translate high-level test requirements using ATLAS compilers.
ATLAS Troubleshooting: Interpret ATLAS code to isolate hardware vs software issues.
Bench Repair: Soldering and troubleshooting PCBAs per diagnostic results (IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 preferred).
Documentation: Maintain digital logs of test results and calibration certificates.
Reports to the Shop Lead Technician or Shop Manager.
