Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking an experienced aerospace engineer to lead Command and Data Handling system work, incorporating cryptographic and cybersecurity features. Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance, or clearance active within the past 2 years.
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident/current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted refugee or person granted asylum in the U.S.
• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of industry experience developing avionics systems
• Must reside in Seattle or be willing to relocate upon acceptance of offer
• NSA Type 1 encryption device expertise, TEMPEST/EMSEC requirements, and CNSSI 1253/NIST 800-53 controls are highly desirable
• Experience interfacing with NSA, COMSEC custodians, or CCI handling is a plus
• Space environment design expertise, including radiation effects, SEU mitigation, and CCSDS protocols is a plus
• Proficiency with Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, LTspice, and MS Visio is expected
• Experience with Python scripting is a plus

Requirements

• Expertise delivering mission-critical Command and Data Handling systems, including data handling architectures and cryptographic systems
• Familiarity with spacecraft interfaces: Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, I2C, SPI, and Serial
• Strong foundation in Layer 2/3 networking: Ethernet, VLANs, QoS, IP, TCP/UDP, and routing
• Experience with requirements definition and decomposition, interface control, and verification
• Must reside in Seattle or be willing to relocate upon acceptance of offer
• Desired: active TS/SCI clearance or clearance active within the past 2 years
• Desired: M.S. in relevant engineering or computer science field with full spacecraft design lifecycle industry experience
• Desired: NSA Type 1 encryption device expertise, including certification processes, TEMPEST/EMSEC requirements, and CNSSI 1253/NIST 800-53 controls
• Desired: experience interfacing with NSA, COMSEC custodians, or CCI handling
