Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle offers an Avionics Software Intern position. You will work with engineering teams on avionics software projects, including design, development, and testing for programs spanning orbital rockets and ground systems.

As an intern, you’ll receive mentorship, engage in real-world projects, and participate in events to learn about other parts of the organization. The role emphasizes safety-critical, real-time embedded software and full lifecycle activities.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or lawfully admitted into the U.S.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
• Completed at least one year of full-time coursework after high school (sophomore standing).
• Available to work full time for a minimum of 15 weeks while not enrolled in coursework.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong interest in Blue's mission!

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Blue engineering teams on avionics software projects.
• Design, develop, and test avionics software for programs from rockets to ground systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop safety-critical, real-time embedded software.
• Participate in full software lifecycle: requirements analysis, implementation, verification, and integration.
