Job summary

RTX in Indianapolis is seeking a Software Engineer I to develop and implement software for mission-critical avionics systems. This onsite role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, contribute to the software life cycle from concept through testing and maintenance, and work in a Windows environment using languages like C, C++, C#, Java. A STEM degree and strong analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree.
• Able to work closely in a multi-discipline team daily.
• Strong Analytical skills.
• Developing and testing software using C, C++, C#, Java or closely related software languages.
• Developing software in a Windows environment.
• Working knowledge in computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python.
• Understanding of software systems design, integration, and management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement software for mission-critical applications.
• Work closely with other software engineers and systems engineers to design ideal solutions with the end user and operational needs in mind.
• Support all aspects of a software development life cycle as a member of a multi-disciplined team.
• This includes supporting new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements, to design, development, integration, test, and potentially subsequent maintenance tasking.
