Job summary

Talentstream's Aerospace and Defense team is seeking an experienced Avionics Software Engineer for a mid-size A&D Engineering services organization in Phoenix, AZ. The role is a 3-day-a-week hybrid position, requiring local residency.

You will join a growing engineering team developing next-generation aerospace and flight systems, with emphasis on safety-critical avionics software and DO-178 certification. You will collaborate across disciplines to design, test, and integrate embedded software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/CE/EE or equivalent software development experience.
• Experience developing avionics software in accordance with DO-178 standards.
• Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming.
• Experience with Flight Controls or Flight Management Systems (FMS).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain avionics software for aerospace applications.
• Develop software in accordance with DO-178 processes and certification requirements.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in software architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and verification activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects while supporting system integration efforts.
• Create and maintain technical documentation to support software development and certification.
• Ensure software meets performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
