Job summary

RTX invites motivated STEM students to join Collins Aerospace Core Systems and Libraries as a full-time co-op in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will contribute to the architecture and development of core software components for avionics, while learning DO-178 practices and certification artifacts under guidance from experienced engineers.

Travel is limited, relocation is eligible, and onsite work is emphasized as the team builds critical software for civil and military aerospace programs.

Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

Assist in architecture and development of core software components, libraries and tools for avionics.
Work across the full software lifecycle with cross-functional teams to deliver safety-critical software.
Develop software requirements, traceability, and DO-178 certification artifacts with DAL-A deliverables.
Collaborate with engineering and program leadership to align technical solutions with program objectives.
