Job summary

RTX’s Cedar Rapids site seeks a motivated intern/co-op in avionics systems engineering to define full-system requirements and develop associated documentation. You will gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment on complex aerospace problems.

Work with industry-standard tools (Jira, Confluence, JAMA), write requirements, and help verify designs while ensuring regulatory certification compliance throughout projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Experience with avionics or aerospace is a plus.
• Strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determines full avionics system requirements for avionics systems.
• Develops system design documentation such as interface control definitions, hardware interconnect definitions, and human machine interface documentation
• Develops and executes verification procedures for laboratory testing of avionics
• Ensures compliance to applicable certification regulations
