Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks an Avionics NPI & Sustaining Engineering Manager to lead the production-facing engineering function for avionics bus hardware. You will guide a team across LRUs, prioritise work, and drive transitions from development into stable production.

You will partner with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and operations to implement corrective actions and systemic improvements, balancing immediate needs with long-term scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years in hardware development, test, sustaining, or related engineering.
• 3+ years in management or team leadership.
• Experience supporting electronic hardware across the lifecycle from development to production.
• Experience leading root-cause investigations and corrective actions for complex hardware issues.
• Experience with PCBA-level hardware, electrical test, hardware bring-up, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working across design engineering, manufacturing, test, quality, and operations.
• Experience prioritizing technical work across multiple hardware issues or products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the avionics hardware NPI and sustaining efforts across LRUs.
• Own production-facing engineering support model for released avionics hardware.
• Drive transition of new and revised avionics hardware into stable production.
• Ensure rapid technical response to production issues (triage, disposition, RCAs).
• Establish MRB ownership and disposition for production hardware issues.
• Partner with design engineering to fix recurring production issues.
• Work with manufacturing, test, quality, operations, and supply chain teams.
• Use production data to identify systemic improvement opportunities.
• Improve manufacturing test flows, troubleshooting, and documentation.
