Job summary

Vast is seeking a Manufacturing Planner, Avionics Manufacturing, in Long Beach to support the design and build of next‑gen space station hardware. The role reports to the Manager, Avionics Manufacturing Operations and is a full-time exempt position in Long Beach.

You will develop schedules, forecast demand, manage materials, and partner with procurement, engineering, and QA to keep production on track. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in manufacturing planning and is proficient with ERP/MES,

Qualifications

• Manufacturing planning, scheduling, or operations management experience required.
• 2+ years of related experience as stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules, demand forecasts, resource availability, and capacity analysis.
• Coordinate with procurement and supply chain to ensure materials availability for manufacturing.
• Analyze capacity and identify bottlenecks or constraints.
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and FG.
• Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory while ensuring production continuity.
• Communicate deadlines for manufacturing to engineering and leadership.
• Coordinate with engineering and QA to ensure specs and standards adherence.
• Monitor progress and address deviations from schedule.
• Take corrective actions to mitigate delays and maintain on-time delivery.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align plans and resolve issues.
