Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a highly motivated Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join the Computing Products Department within the DCCN directorate. You will lead LRU development, design CCAs, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are met.

The role covers all phases of hardware development from design to test and factory transition, with emphasis on high-speed digital circuit design, EMI control, and thermal management.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 8+ years experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience essential.
• Experience with Avionics I/O: Ethernet, ARINC 429, MIL-STD 1553, PCIe.

Responsibilities

• Lead LRU development through all design phases.
• Design and analyze CCAs for avionics computers.
• Work with lab equipment for integration testing.
• Schematic capture of digital/analog circuits.
• Oversee PCB layout and DTC/DFM/DFT practices.
• Mentor engineers and delegate tasks.
• Lead EMI and environmental qualification efforts.
